Took some time with the warm weather finally hitting Ontario to test the casting distance on the new Shimano SLX baitcaster. *NOTE: I MADE A MISTAKE BY SAYING 100 YARDS AFTER THE 120 FOOT CAST.... BRAIN FART ON MY END!
Here are the details:
Rod - SLX 7'2" Medium Heavy, Fast Action
Reel - SLX 150
Line - Power Pro Super8Slick V2 - 30 lb test
Bait - 1/2 oz Swim Jig with Trailer

Overall, the SLX casts better than any reel that used the old sliding pin VBS system. All the way down to 1 brake, the spool never got loose and distance was very impressive with over 160 feet casting a 1/2 swim jig.
