📖 About Diogenes:
Diogenes of Sinope (c. 412–323 BCE) was the most notorious figure of the Cynic tradition and one of the most provocative philosophers of antiquity. Rejecting wealth, comfort, and social norms, he lived in deliberate poverty to demonstrate that happiness and freedom come from self-sufficiency rather than possessions or approval.

Through public acts of defiance, biting wit, and radical honesty, Diogenes exposed what he saw as the hypocrisy of “respectable” life. He treated shame as a social construct and used shamelessness as a philosophical weapon to reveal false values.

Core themes of his philosophy include:
Radical simplicity and self-sufficiency
Freedom from social convention and status
Truth-telling without regard for power
Moral independence through poverty
Philosophy lived openly and visibly

Diogenes did not write treatises or systems. His philosophy was his life. By reducing existence to what is truly necessary, he offered a relentless challenge to complacency and a vision of freedom grounded in courage, honesty, and independence from illusion.
