3rd Grade Math 11.9, Same Perimeters, but Different Areas

Описание к видео 3rd Grade Math 11.9, Same Perimeters, but Different Areas

We can use area to compare rectangles that have the same perimeter. We can create different rectangles with the same perimeter. Then, we can calculate the areas to see how they change. To find a rectangle's perimeter, we add its four side lengths to get a total. To find a rectangle's area, we multiply side times side as length X width. Perimeter is the distance around a figure. Area is the number of unit squares needed to cover the surface of the figure. We solve a word problem involving a given perimeter and finding the largest area for the figure that is possible. We draw rectangles with the same perimeter and different area. We're given a length, a width, and an area, then try to think of a question that will fit the given information. We decide which of three figures has a given perimeter and area. We discuss "cause and effect" involving area and perimeter. The cause is the reason something happens. The effect is the result.
