Gaming's Unnecessary Obsession With Graphics

With the release of Elden Ring more than ever has this talk on graphics been in my mind I've always found it strange that so much of the modern gaming discussion when it comes to video game visuals is about graphical fidelity and that the only way to judge a games visuals is based off its graphical fidelity I've never really cared about how realistic or high poly or 4k HD games look to me the more important factor and honestly underappreciated factor has been art direction or video game aesthetic or video game art style and today I discuss why I think this and how this obsession with graphics is harmful
