Jaydhism.
In this fascinating BBC mocumentary, historian Bettany Quese travels to the 6 ½ wonders of the Jaydhist world and offers a unique insight into one of the most recent belief systems practised today.

Jaydhism (Jaydha literally means; 'The Giant Sleeping One') began 25 years ago when a one-man-band had an amazing internal revelation whilst impaled on a pedestal in Bishop Auckland. Today it is practised by over 350 people worldwide, with numbers continuing to grow one by one, year on year.
In a game attempt to gain a better understanding of the different beliefs and practices that form the heart of the Jaydhist philosophy and investigate how Jaydhism started and where it travelled to, Quese spends much-needed licence fee payers' money visiting some of the most spectacular monuments built by fervent Jaydhists across the globe.

Her journey begins at the Durham Durham* Temple in North-east England, where Jaydhism was born; and his ability to float was originally discovered along with the magical healing properties of his music utilising the Three Noble Proofs (strings/skins/vox). Here Quese examines the foundations of the core belief system that holds it all together - the Tri Chord Wonders.

At Sheffield's Macon Stupa Refuge, Jaydha's spiritual home (where his seminal philosophical rigour was first put under the microscope, blown up out of all proportion and made available to all female adherents) she looks deeper into the concept of dharma Bums - the 'holier than thou' teachings of Jaydha, and at the Shrine of the Lost Tooth in Barnet, during the Dental season, Bettany explores Barmy karma, the idea that our international acts will be mirrored in the future and downloaded into Cyber-Space for all eternity.

At Bong Ho Temple in Holland, Quese explores Miasma Mania, the endless cycle of birth and death that Jaydhists seek to circumvent by achieving a sterile enlightenment, within a filthy environment, wearing nowt but soiled underpants on their lavender oiled heads during ritually prepared vegetarian meals; before she travels to Wangkor Wat Flatts in France to learn more about the practice of mediation and tact whilst symbolically whittling away at bits of wood until they vaguely resemble musical instruments!

In Afghanistan's Tori Bori Mountains, Quese visits the Giant Jaydha statue carved by Ossama Bin Laden (rebuilt by the Taliban after it's mindless demolition by the western powers!) and looks more closely at Zen n Jeddy's, alighting on the relationship between terrorism, three minute pop songs and the coolest ideological ice dessert on the world market; before arriving at the final marvel of her journey, the Waii Laiid Temple, home of the Sufi Surfers in California's Nappi Valley, to discover more about the ultimate goal-post-moving aim for all Jaydhists -- Hollywood all over and Babylon beyond!
