In a press conference held in Peshawar, DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed that the rise in terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is linked to a political and criminal nexus.

The DG ISPR stated that despite decades of sacrifices, some elements continue to support and shelter terrorists for political gain. He emphasized that Pakistan’s security cannot be compromised or left to any foreign influence, particularly Afghanistan.

Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif also shared key operational stats:

Over 14,500 intelligence-based operations were conducted in 2024.

700+ terrorists eliminated, 577 martyrs including army, police, and civilians.

In 2025 so far, 917 terrorists killed and 516 Pakistanis embraced martyrdom.

The DG reaffirmed the resolve of the Pakistan Army to eliminate terrorism and urged political unity under the National Action Plan.
