The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has been around for a while now. It’s won awards, built a loyal following, and proven itself as one of the most accessible modern classics on the market.

But after several years on sale, and with newer models receiving updates, the question is simple:

Is the 2018–2023 Interceptor 650 still enough?

I recently spent a week riding a 2023 model Interceptor 650 around the roads I grew up on in Australia — in summer heat, on tarmac and dirt, riding it the way I naturally would. I wasn’t even planning to make a video on this bike… but after living with it again, I felt it deserved a proper retrospective look.

This is a pre-2024 model, before the LED headlight, USB port, and updated switchgear — so this is a look at the original formula that won so many people over.
