Virtual tour from the 2012 Detroit Auto Show of the 2013 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT. The 6.2-liter V8 carries over, but cranks out 20 more horsepower for a total of 583 hp. Torque remains consistent at 479 pound-feet. Power is still delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that AMG has tuned to deliver shorter shift times. More crucially, however, the suspension gets a thorough recalibration with stiffer, more aggressive spring and damper settings. Forget the previously available "Comfort" suspension mode; the SLS AMG GT dispenses with it. The new adaptive suspension control offers a basic choice between aggressive and ridiculously track-ready aggressive. Mercedes says the collective upgrades push the SLS AMG GT from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds -- a couple tenths quicker than the current model -- on the way to a top speed of 197 mph. Looking for effortless light speed? The SLS AMG GT has it. Looking for comfort? Well, there's still the Mercedes SL65.
