Hereford Station is located on the line between Shrewsbury and Cardiff Central on the Welsh Marches Lines, it also is the terminus of the Cotswolds Line from Worcester

The station sees roughly 1-2 trains a hour in each direction on the Welsh Marches Line operated by Transport For Wales either heading towards Holyhead/Chester or Cardiff Central with a other services heading either towards Swansea and West Wales or Manchester via Crewe

At the time of filming most TFW services are operated using a mix of Class 150/158 and Class 175 DMU's although the odd Class 153 isn't uncommon to see here;

TFW Loco Hauled Mark 4 Coaching sets operate through here on the line with selected weekday Premier services between Cardiff and Holyhead and also on services towards Manchester throughout the week. These services being hauled by Class 67's.

West Midland Operate services from Hereford also, with one 1-2 trains a hour towards Worcester and onto Birmingham New Street. These now being operated with Class 172 and Class 196's but in the past were operated solely with Class 170 Diesel Multiple Units.

Great Western Railway services operate direct services to/from London Paddington, these services operating a few times a day using Class 800-802 Diesel Electric Multiple Units, but in the past were operated using Class 43 High Speed Trains.
