When we now include decay of the qubit in the form of energy dissipation, the qubit vector slides slowly down the Bloch sphere until it no longer oscillates and points only downwards.

Including energy loss in the form of damping in the mechanical resonator, the position of the string still oscillates up and down, but the amplitude of these oscillations decay in time.

To see the direct relation between the two, you should again relate the projection of the Bloch vector of the qubit onto the x-axis. Doing so, you can see that using the twirling falling Bloch vector, you recover the same decaying oscillations as in the mechanical resonator.
