As a longtime member of iRacing since 2010, nothing could pry me loose from it. Assetto Corsa is interesting but doesn't focus on what I'm looking for. ACC was nice for a little bit, but failed to hold my interest and the graphics engine was always a little offputting. rFactor 2 (on which LMU is derived) was too fussy and unstructured. Time and time again I'd slip right back into the comfortable grip of iRacing. Until now, at least.

Le Mans Ultimate has taken a specific slice of motorsport (GT and Prototype Endurnance) and shown us all how it can be done. The driving mechanics are deeper, more interesting and challenging, and unlike many that have come before it, comes wrapped up in a well structured, ranked system that demands respect between drivers. It's a genuine alternative, dare I say successor to iRacing for a lot of people. I never thought anything would come along that would make me say that.
