Hi all, this duck pond is filtered by a bog filter.
I used a 2.6m diameter trough 30cm high for the pond and a 1.6m by 60cm high trough for the bog filter. I used a trench liner that is used for septic system trenches or storm water. It was about 25cm high and 1.6 wide and cost cost $20. I turned it upside down and put ballast rock up to the top, placed shadecloth across then added pea Gravel up to the top. I used porous flexible metal separate a fifth of ot off and had less pea Gravel so I could plant water plants in that section. I put a tap in one side of the bog filter at one end of the trench liner tunnel for future cleaning. At the other end the inlet pipe comes in. the water is taken from the furthest part of the pond from the bog filter by a laguna pump made for pea sized solids. The pump runs 24/7. The only problem so far the pea gravel heats up a lot during summer and cooks the strawberries so I may add mulch or try different plants. I combined lots of pylther people's innovative ideas to make this a success!
