Jaw Exercises Against Pain, Clicking, Crackling, Etc. – Semmelweis University's Training Videos

Описание к видео Jaw Exercises Against Pain, Clicking, Crackling, Etc. – Semmelweis University's Training Videos

A few minutes of exercise can help alleviate pain in the masticatory (chewing) muscles and the jaw, cracking or clicking of the masticatory joint as well as restricted ability to open the mouth. The steps of the jaw exercises were put together by experts from Semmelweis University.

With the help of Dr. Péter Schmidt, chief clinical physician of the Department of Prosthodontics at Semmelweis University, we present a short exercise program that was developed together with the staff of the department for patients who have been recommended to undergo jaw joint mobility therapy. The exercise can also help to reduce or eliminate pain and improve changes in mobility. Fortunately, healthy mouth movements are very easy to recognize. The opening of the mouth is unobstructed and the jaw moves up and down in a straight line. If your jaw moves in a very different 's' or 'c' shape, or if there is not 35-40 mm between the upper and lower incisors in the open mouth, you should seek medical advice. It is important that the exercise should only be performed on the advice of a doctor, as you need the help of a qualified physiotherapist or doctor and regular check-ups even when practicing the jaw joint exercises.

The health education video series launched by Semmelweis University aims to provide information and assistance from a reliable source on health and family care related issues that may arise in everyday life.
