The Story Of Fred The MCW Metrocab Taxi.

Back in 2011 I bought my first London taxi. It was an LTI Fairway Driver. The cab was ideal for moving friends around for bus work days, as well as moving bus spares too. Unfortunately the Fairway was prone to rust and living in Margate on the coast at the time hastened this. I looked around and the Metrocab with the fibreglass bodywork looked like a much better option.
My first Metrocab was a series 3 manual which was great fun. Over the years I've had five Metrocabs and still own three of them.
This is the story of Fred my eldest Metrocab and a genuine MCW example. Whilst not as popular as the FX4 or the Fairway, these old cabs are very thin on the ground these days - especially the genuine MCW cabs. I absolutely love them - even if they're not to everyone's taste!
