On this episode of My Classic Car, Dennis checks out the fabulous fins of some Virgil Exner designed Mopars: a '61 Chrysler New Yorker Wagon and a '56 New Yorker Convertible.

Starting with the remarkable '61 Wagon, it is a monster, and you do not see these anymore. Certainly not of this quality. A 4 door hard top with no pillar, the lines a great and there's great visibility. The space-age gumball dash is also a sought after piece, but the most beautiful part of the car are those boomerang taillights. Canted over slightly with the fins, they are a wagon only feature, and only for a few model years. Also pretty rare and notable when you see it is the Cross-Ram 413 Engine, carrying it down the road with the confidence of power and style. With the original chalk marks and date stamps, she's beautiful and runs just as well as she looks.

Another New Yorker, the '56 convertible is also great looking, and with an extreme 4 piece bumper with lots of wild curves. An absolute pristine and fabulous restoration, even the inner fender wells are factory white. Accented by original Motor Wheel Company wire wheels, and a muted yet eye catching coral color, it exudes class. Along with the advent of the padded dash, this cruiser also comes with an in-dash record player that works like it should with such a considered restoration. Pretty understated for Exner fins, they're still there and match the class of the rest of it. Not too out there, as they're one of the first years for them. Powered by a Hemi here, and just like the wagon it's powerful and absolutely perfect.

Two of the finest examples of restoration and of a classy, very specific era of cars.
