Presentation skills is always one of our most practical and popular workshops, as many students make mini presentations and complete public speaking tasks for their peers. The Student Development Team (SDT) attended a special presentation skills training workshop in September, and are now sharing these skills with their teams.
Students are introduced to the BRAVE and GLOVE (Gestures/Language/Organisation/Voice/Enthusiasm) acronyms to help them remember key components of a good presentation. The SDT worked with their student teams to prepare mini presentations about the range of activities at Lone Buffalo like the Student Coffee Co-operative, English Tuition , Green Buffalo or Girls Football Club.
Students provided their peers feedback after each presentation. to fellow students. As many DevTog students are involved in our extra-curricular projects - participants get plenty of opportunities to put these skills into practice. The Student Development Team will be using their own presentation skills later this month when they present Health and Hygiene workshops to their teams Each workshop concludes with student feedback and a SDT mini review which helps our DevTog programme to continually evolve.
Over 80 senior students are able to benefit from the life skills training the 4th DevTog programme will provide over the next 6 months.
