Roald Dahl’s “The Landlady” is a literary masterpiece. This short story was written in 1959. Possibly the most interesting elements of the story is the theme. The theme of the story was things aren’t always as they seem. When Billy Weaver, a seventeen year old boy looking for a place to stay in Bath, England shows up at a Bed and Breakfast that was recommended to him, he looks through the window and sees a puppy, a nice fire, and some pleasant furniture. But the Landlady has a nice surprise for us!
