I actually somewhat grew up in this business. And I grew up in upstate New York where IBM originated and both of my parents were both self-employed. My mom actually was a bookkeeper at a local school, but she also owned two income tax offices. So she was licensed as a financial advisor, but back then, financial advising really wasn't a big deal.

A lot of IBMers had big pensions and then social. Once the 1980s rolled around, all of a sudden everything changed and now pensions were being taken away. And now you're given this thing called the 401k, and now you are responsible for your retirement. More than ever. Financial planning has become more complicated than ever before.

You've got world economic events, you've got more products and tools out there and investments that people really don't know what they. When people come in, the first thing that I want to do is break down their portfolio and really see what they have. A lot of times I ask them, do you understand your investments?

And the majority of the time people say, I really don't Eric, I need help. And so this is where we really step down. We really want to come in. We want to break down the plan. We wanna show them what they're, what they're holding in their investments are right now. What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses?

How much volatility, how much in fees are you paying? How much risk is actually in that portfolio. And is that sustainable for you? Once we do that, we can then start building a plan and I'll tell. The further that people get into the process that we have, the more calm they actually feel. So if you have any questions about your retirement, don't be out in there.

Don't be out there in that financial, no man's land strive for excellence. Your wealth deserves it.
