This version of Wagner's traditional Bridal March is from my new record The Big Day: Soundtrack for a Wedding. This eclectic and modern collection features 16 songs for an entire wedding. In addition to this modern take on the traditional processional, it also includes cover songs of John Lennon, Etta James, Christina Perri, Madonna, James Arthur, Kings of Leon, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Damien Rice, Kathleen Edwards and Felix Mendolssohn, as well as two original compositions.

The Big Day is comprised of mostly instrumentals, along with with three vocal performances by Markita Conner. When played from start to finish, there are six songs that can be played in the background as guests arrive, a song for the seating of the mothers, a processional for the bridal party, one heck of a dramatic fanfare that lets everyone know the bride is getting ready to walk down the aisle, a modern, very different version of the traditional Bridal March; several songs for the ceremony, and two songs that work together to create one super, over-the-top happy ending.
