Since 2013, RSL (Queensland Branch) has committed $6.75 million to the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation to provide funding for world first research into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The study – involving 300 Vietnam veterans – examined the science behind PTSD, combined with a thorough investigation of the genetics and long-term physical effects of the illness. The results were published in the Medical Journal of Australia on April 3, 2017.

Following this study, RSL Queensland established tangible pathways for ex-serving Defence personnel to engage in active lifestyles across Queensland, and we encourage veterans to get involved in some of the fun, free services offered by partners we support.
