Some notes about the composition as found on
https://www.jazzguitarcomprehensive.com/

Composer: Cedar Walton

Year: 1975

Origin: Introduced on the album Eastern Rebellion.

Style: Swing, usually played at an up tempo.

Form: A1-A2-B (32 Bars) [8-8-16]
Bars 5-12 of the B section are played with a Latin feel during the head, and the head is typically played twice on the way in and out The ostinato figure played in the A sections is sometimes used during the solo sections, but oftentimes bass players will begin to walk after a few choruses. The A section vamp is also often used as an outro vamp to finish performances before ending on EMaj7 - EbMaj7.

Key: C Major

Harmony/Overview: The harmony of this composition is unique and not entirely functional. The A sections are modal, revolving a V7 vamp which would suggest the Mixolydian sound. The B section is a bit more complex however, moving through a series Maj7 and min7 chords which are strung together with various secondary dominants, II - V's, and tri-tone substitutions.

Recordings: This song has been recorded over 50 times to date. It was first introduced on Cedar Walton's album Eastern Rebellion, and he would also record it on several other occasions throughout his career. It continues to be performed frequently to this day and remains a popular jam session number.
