Today from Salads and Sandwiches from 1917 we’re taking the non-thrilling sounding Cabbage-Potato Sandwich. But don’t worry, it isn’t just cabbage and potato, there’s also onion, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Yeah, that doesn’t really make it a lot better. Still it could be worse, they could’ve called for fresh yeast. And I know without a doubt that there will be a ton of “you should’ve plussed it up with corned beef!” comments. And to be sure, that would be awesome. But, I try not to add meat to sandwiches that don’t already have some as it tends to stem the focus. Adding corned beef would make it a corned beef sandwich more so than a cabbage and potato sandwich.
