An eight mile circular walk from the village of Ludham, Norfolk. First we head to the site of St Benet's Abbey. Here are the remains of the only monastic site in England that was not closed by King Henry Vlll. Now very little remains except for some of the 14th century gatehouse. There is also the remains of an 18th century mill and both of these structures are now an icon of the Norfolk Broads. The River Bure runs close by so if you hire a boat you get moor up close by and have the perfect opportunity to visit St Benets.

We followed a footpath to Ludham Bridge and on to the How Hill National nature reserve. Following the grassy footpath all the way to How Hill we walk next to the River Ant where we see a reedcutter at work and reeds stacked on a boat. We pass Turf Fen Mill, built in 1875 to drain the Horning marshes, and fly the drone down the River Ant where there is a great view of the open framed timber trestle drainage mill called Boardmans Mill.

We also fly the drone over the How Hill estate and gardens, this is the location of the environmental study centre for the Norfolk Broads.
