The Detroit Lions are heading into the 2024 NFL season with as big of expectations as they’ve had in their franchise’s history at this point. After their NFC championship game appearance in 2023, the Lions vs Rams matchup we await in week 1 might show us exactly how the Lions plan to one up their play from last season. And if their 2024 preseason was any indication, we might have somewhat of an idea.

The Detroit Lions offense is easily one of the best in all of the NFL heading into this year. Headlined by QB Jared Goff, along with running backs in David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, wide outs Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, Sam Laporta, and even further down the line in guys like Isaiah Williams, even new signings Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson II, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will try to elevate this side of the ball with their stronger offensive line with additions of Kevin Zeiter & rookie Giovanni Manu.

Then, there’s the Detroit Lions defense. And along with everything else, this side of the ball is expected to take a massive jump as well. With guys like Aidan Hutchinson, Jack Campbell, Alex Anzalone, Derrick Barnes & Kerby Joseph returning, but also with new additions like Carlton Davis, DJ Reader, & even rookies Terrion Arnold & Ennis Rakestraw Jr, DC Aaron Glenn has a better group to work with then in years past.
