On 12 November, a joint operation by Chin resistance forces led to the capture of security outposts in Rihkhawdar and Khawmawi border areas of Falam district in Myanmar’s Chin State — the resistance’s northwestern offensives are an embarrassing setback for the Myanmar military, but the victory has come at a cost. Rihkhawdar has turned into a ghost town with abandoned homes, government buildings and deserted roads. Resistance groups' sustained attacks on military bases forced civilians to flee to India. Some have returned, but many aren’t sure when they can get back, fearing air strikes by the junta. The ethnic armed organisations in the ‘Liberated Zone’ are confident of holding their positions.
