For the last few months I've been immersing my creative output in the world of "Pearl" - A sound and soft sculpture installation commissioned by @maitlandregionalartgallery as part of the exhibition of Ron Mueck's Sculpture "Pregnant Woman".

In the presence of Mueck’s sculpture “Pregnant Woman”, I am reminded of memories that are pulled out of the hazy, disjointed fog of my childhood, accompanied by certain sensory memories; the smell of the ocean; the texture of a new found shell; the laughter of cousins at family Christmas picnics at Pearl Beach, on The Central Coast of N.S.W.

I've captured these memories in; the composition and recording of 3 folk tunes, an ocean soundscape. These sonic expressions are grounded by a giant clam and pearl which I very much encourage you to recline on for the full immersive experience.

The work is available for viewing at the Gallery until the 23rd of June. Don't miss it!
