SNK vs. Capcom Chaos Plus [Arcade] - play as Athena

Описание к видео SNK vs. Capcom Chaos Plus [Arcade] - play as Athena

This is a playthrough using Athena in the Arcade version of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. Read on below for more information...

Princess Athena is one of two hidden final bosses in the game. You can fight her if you fulfill certain conditions during a single-player game before reaching the end. She is an unplayable character in both the original MVS arcade and AES home versions of the game.

This is an alternative version of the Arcade game, where the hidden final boss characters are made available on the character select screen.

===== ABOUT PRINCESS ATHENA =====

She is the version of Athena from the 1986 platform arcade game of the same name. She wields a sword and shield, and has moves with influence from Greek mythology... a lot of her moves are "taken from" or based upon material from the platform game.

Gameplay-wise, as a non-playable boss, she is rather unique in the way that all but one of her "special moves" are actually super moves, which does not require any gauge. Not only that, she has a lot of invincibility frames during most of these special/super moves as well... and she's also fast and a small target. This makes her a very powerful character. Her Exceed super move is the summoning of Pegasus, which can only be done if her name is flashing and her lifebar being the red portion.

===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====

---- In single-player mode when playing as Athena, if you have fulfilled the conditions to get to CPU Athena or CPU Red Arremer, you'll get Kyo Kusanagi's cut-scene and dialogues after you beat Serious Mr. Karate or Shin Akuma. Then, if you defeat CPU Athena or CPU Red Arremer, you will get Kyo's ending.

---- When in a mirror match, she has no pre-fight dialogue.

---- She has no pre-fight dialogue with Red Arremer.

---- After she defeats an opponent, the opponent will be transformed into an animal/creature.

---- In one of her winning poses, she transforms into her original form from the platform game.

---- When she is defeated by Athena or Red Arremer, she does not transform.

---- She has a lot of costume changes for her moves in gameplay. This is "in tradition" with Athena Asamiya as she changes her costume for every KOF game.

---- Her bikini costume appears in Athena's maximum super move in KOF97.

---- During her pre-fight intro, the "angel" who appears besides her is the Titan Goddess. She is from the original platform game.

---- Princess Athena also appears in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum as a hidden character.

===== ABOUT SVC CHAOS =====

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is basically SNK's mainstream attempt at the crossover fighting game with Capcom. It was not as popular as Capcom's two CvS games, but SvC did develop quite a significant fanbase among certain groups.

The gameplay is your typical SNK system, it is somewhat similar to KOF and is quite technical. Combos are generally hard to pull off because it requires precision and also because there generally tends to be "less possibilities" when compared to a SFA or CvS game.

Graphics-wise, I think SNK did a very job at depicting the Capcom characters in the "SNK" style, they are very detailed sprites with impressive animation... M.Bison's chipmunk face and his waving hand in his neutral stance will always be a classic. Dare I say that I would have wanted to see more Capcom characters in this SNK style.

One of the best things about this game is definitely the pre-fight character dialogue exchanges. Every character has a unique dialogue exchange with every character... they really do give you an insight into each character's personality and their relationships with each other. If you like this kind of thing, then SvC is for you.
