Choices... hamare chaaron taraf bhar bhar ke hain. While we're drowning in choices in our daily lives, I took this as both inspiration and challenge to deliberately cut down my own options. So, I made a song using JUST a spoon and a glass (and my voice).
So, are we truly free with so many choices, or are we trapped by them?

Choices... we are all simply flooded by them. While we're drowning in choices in our daily lives, I took this as both inspiration and challenge to deliberately cut down my own options. So, I made a song using JUST a spoon and a glass (and my voice). So, are we truly free with so many choices, or are we trapped by them?
This project began when I started noticing how exhausted I felt making countless decisions every day. From scrolling through endless streaming options to choosing between 30 types of the same product, the modern world has become an overwhelming maze of choices. Research shows that this "paradox of choice" actually makes us less happy and more anxious – exactly the opposite of what freedom should feel like.
Instead of just talking about minimalism, I decided to embody it creatively. The challenge: create an entire song using nothing but a glass, a spoon, and my voice. No digital instruments. No samples. No fancy equipment. Every single sound you hear in this track – from the 91 BPM beat to the percussive elements – was created by manipulating just these two simple objects.
I tapped the spoon against different parts of the glass to create varying tones. I ran the spoon around the rim for sustained notes. I filled the glass with different water levels to change pitches. I used the glass as a resonator for my voice. Each sound required creative problem-solving within extreme constraints.
The lyrics explore how having too many choices paradoxically reduces our freedom, happiness, and productivity. We spend so much mental energy on trivial decisions that we have less capacity for what truly matters. This Hinglish rap examines how the barrage of options in everything from social media to relationships is affecting our collective mental health.
What started as a creative constraint experiment turned into something unexpectedly meaningful. By limiting my tools, I forced myself to think differently about music production. The result is a testament to how creativity often flourishes within boundaries rather than unlimited freedom – exactly the message behind the lyrics themselves.
