SNWEL Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is proud to share another successful international milestone — completion of 3D Mapping and Detail Modelling of a Blast Furnace (BF) for a leading Vietnamese steel manufacturer.

This project was executed as part of the SIP (Solid Injection Pulverized) system integration into the BF tuyeres, along with the PRS (Pressure Relief System). The primary objective was to digitally map the furnace’s critical zones to ensure precise interface engineering for the new SIP and PRS systems without affecting existing operations.

🔧 Scope of Work & Methodology
Our team utilized high-definition 3D laser scanning technology to capture the as-built geometry of the Blast Furnace and its surrounding zones with sub-millimeter precision. The acquired point cloud data was processed and converted into an intelligent 3D engineering model, encompassing:

Furnace shell and tuyere level

Hot blast main, bustle main, and cooling lines

Structural and piping interfaces for SIP and PRS systems

Platforms, access structures, and support assemblies

💡 Engineering Deliverables & Value Addition

The integrated 3D model enabled:
✅ Accurate interface assessment between existing BF components and proposed SIP injection lines
✅ Clash detection and clearance verification for piping and structural members
✅ Precise routing feasibility analysis for SIP pipelines and PRS ducts
✅ Generation of detailed engineering deliverables for installation planning and coordination

🌍 Outcome

The digital model now serves as a validated reference for engineering and installation, ensuring a smooth retrofit implementation in an operational plant environment.
