Shocking Maternity Deaths In Karnataka: Stunning Deaths Reported In Just 6 Month | India Today

A sudden increase in maternal deaths at Ballari District Hospital following caesarean operations has sparked controversy. The deaths occurred over three days in the maternity operation theatre. The government has provided 2 lakh ex gratia to victims' families. Union Minister Shobha Kadranoje has accused the Karnataka government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of using fake glucose in maternity wards. Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao attributes the deaths to the use of substandard ringer lactate solution and blames the central government for poor regulation.
