Create Awesome Jazzy Lines, Easily, By Overlapping Pentatonic Scales!!!The pentatonic scale is the Alpha and the Omega for guitarists. It's everywhere...One really great thing that you can do is to overlap the scales to create extensions and or tensions over chords. It's much the same as doing this with triads but may be even more musical. The resulting lines have large intervocalic leaps and retain all of the goodness that the pentatonic scales have to offer. This lesson uses three scales, overlapped to create a Major13#11 sound when all played at once. Of course you can scale back and only use two at a time, or even one, to be less extended or outside. Take these ideas and play them all over the neck using the five positions of each individual scale! Have fun!
