Morii Lake or Ciurel lake is the largest lake in Bucharest, with 246 ha. The lake is approximately 6 km from the center of Bucharest and it is one of the most famous for its sunset. Each clear-sky evening there are locals waiting for the most beautiful sunset in Bucharest - the sun is slowly disappearing as melting into the lake.
Morii Lake is an artificial lake created by the communists to prevent the river Dambovita from flooding, but the lake was built over an orthodox cemetery. An aura of legend surrounds this place, with a spooky story behind its beauty. Surnamed as ''Lake of Death'', many people said they have experienced strange sensations or have had horrific experiences.
