The ScaleUp team has engineered an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud in Germany- leveraging the power of Open Compute Platform (OCP) and open source technology. The setup was also designed with sustainability in mind and leverages the Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS)- an open source project offering a standardized cloud platform using Open Stack and Kubernetes- ensuring compliance with European data standards and preventing user lock-in.

In our presentation- we will showcase the steps how we are building and operating multiple regions of this IaaS infrastructure. We will also discuss how this approach can be a scalable alternative to hyperscale clouds and also how this can be used as a blue-print for private cloud deployments.
