Canadian woman fired from Tim Hortons for calling out for hiring only Indians

A recent incident at a Tim Hortons in Canada has sparked an online debate after a Canadian woman claimed she was fired for speaking out against the restaurant’s hiring practices. According to her, the management was only hiring Indian immigrants, and when she questioned this, she lost her job.

The situation quickly gained attention when a post about it went viral on X (formerly Twitter). The woman said that the managers, who were also Indian, were only hiring other Indian immigrants to work at the restaurant. She felt this was unfair and discriminatory, but when she raised the issue, she was let go from her position.

This incident comes at a time when Canada is seeing a large increase in immigration, especially from India. Indian immigrants make up a significant portion of newcomers to Canada, with statistics showing that over 118,000 Indians became permanent residents in Canada in 2022 alone. In fact, Indian immigrants now represent nearly 20% of all newcomers to the country, making them the largest group of immigrants in Canada.
