Türkiye deploys additional troops to Kosovo at NATO’s request

The deployment of the commando battalion to Kosovo, which was assigned upon the request of the NATO Joint Force Command following the events in Kosovo, has been completed.

A part of the commando battalion of the 65th Mechanised Infantry Brigade Command stationed in Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli, which was assigned as a reserve unit, arrived at the military airport in Çorlu.
After the completion of the preparations here, Mehmetçik reached the International Adem Jashari Airport in Pristina by military aircraft.

Mehmetçik will be stationed at Sultan Murat Barracks
Turkish Ambassador to Pristina Sabri Tunç Angılı welcomed the troops arriving at the airport. The soldiers then travelled to Sultan Murat Barracks where they will be stationed.
