2 November 2023. The first in our Population Health Data Science research seminar series, with introduction by Professor Rohini Mathur. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a heart condition that causes an irregular heartbeat and increases the risk of stroke. Professor Jianhua Wu presents his work using national primary care data to identify individuals at risk of unrecognised AF. His presentation covers the development of an AI-based algorithm (FIND-AF) for AF prediction using data from CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink) and how this can be implemented for AF screening in general practice.
