2018 was a year marked by several momentous events in pop culture: Avengers Infinity War and Black Panther changed the game for superheroes and ensured Marvel domination for years to come, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse showed us how an animated superhero could mix things up, Aquaman offered a glimmer of hope to the struggling DCEU from DC comics, and A Star is Born introduced us to Bradley Cooper’s sonorous singing voice.

Still, as bright as the best of 2018 and the best movies of 2018 shined, the best of the year wouldn’t exist without the worst of the year coming close behind. No worst of 2018 or worst movies of 2018 list would be complete without acknowledging the baffling Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, the disappointing Ready Player One, the disastrous Solo: A Star Wars Story, the vicious Venom, or the embarrassing Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. The Nerdie Awards are the ultimate mark of quality for TV, movie, and games, and who knows? Next year we might even have voting or actual procedures to determine the winners and losers. But until then, our year in review video will have to tide you over.
