Tensions with China in spotlight as leaders of US, Japan and Philippines meet

United States President Joe Biden has vowed "ironclad" defence commitments to allies Japan and the Philippines, as he hosted the first trilateral summit with leaders of both countries on Thursday (Apr 11). The meeting with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Philippines' President Ferdinand Marcos Jr comes amid concerns over China's actions in the Indo-Pacific region.
