Your future performance concept:
"To further enhance the act, I plan to reinforce the mood and music using glow clubs in a carefully choreographed way.
Intro & Opening Choreography: At the beginning, I want to keep the lighting of the clubs quite minimal. For example, the one club could slowly brighten during the initial circular movement – as if it's gradually "waking up." As the tempo of the choreography picks up, subtle flashes synced with the beat can underline the rhythm of the music. The flat fronts are juggled strictly to the rhythm, without accentuating individual beats – that emphasis will come visually through the glow clubs.
Neck Throws & 2-Stage-720: The neck throws will be color-coded – either through a brighter color or a dynamic, moving light pattern to draw attention to them. For the 2-stage-720, I'll differentiate the two levels: two clubs in the first stage will share one color, while the single club in the second stage stands out in a contrasting color. This makes the structure of the trick visually clear for the audience.
Slapbacks & the 180 spin: The slapbacks will remain single-colored with subtle visual effects, preserving their fluid feel. For the 180 spin, the two clubs that stay in hand will have a gentle strobe effect that matches the song's multi-pulse rhythm precisely. Afterwards, the slapbacks return as before.
Columns & the 3-Club in one hand thing: I've included a short pause to optionally sort the clubs, then continue with columns, which will also be color-coded (2 and 1). During the "fish like move" with all three clubs in one hand, I'd like the brightness of each club to reflect its height – choreographed manually, not by using any sensors
Flats, Overheads, Alberts & Backcross 360: The flats will stay simple, with only slight changes when transitioning into overheads. Alberts and the backcross 360 will use a light strobe effect to reflect the rapid shifts in the music, adding intensity and visual rhythm.
Backcrosses & Multiplex: The following backcrosses will be visually understated, with a subtle pulse to reflect the beat. The multiplex serves as a bridging element – a short pause, and a moment to sort the clubs if needed – before visually separating the quad and the trebla throw with different colors or fades.
Ending: As the music winds down, the lighting also becomes calmer. In the end the clubs gently fade out with a short delay, ensuring the final catch lands exactly on the last note – giving the piece a soft, poetic ending.
Choreographic transitions: All the smaller choreographic elements between the tricks that I haven't mentioned here are meant to create smooth transitions between movements and tricks. With these, I plan to experiment a bit to see what looks and feels best:)."
Other notes on future performance ideas
"For a stage version of the act, there are two possible settings:
On a round stage, the piece could be slightly adapted to make use of the full space. For instance, the flat fronts at the beginning would be a great opportunity to move in a circle, allowing to use the entire stage.
On a frontal stage, movements to the sides would have a stronger visual impact.
For a studio version, I imagine a natural, slightly raw setting that fits the mood of the music — perhaps a rocky area like a quarry, or a grassy plateau covered in mist. The lighting would either evoke twilight or a foggy atmosphere — both offering their own visual potential. Some light would still be necessary to ensure that my movements remain visible, especially in the darker settings.
As for the outfit, I'd keep it simple, so that the focus remains on the choreography. Something like a climber might wear could work well. Alternatively, to reflect the tone of the music, I could go for a look inspired by Viking aesthetics: perhaps a dark tank top combined with plain, long trousers.
Also the tricks are still in work, cause I didn't practiced 3 clubs too much and needed a little challenge but now I'm motivated, so they'll get clean in the next weeks!!!"
