MuseScore 3/4 Comparison - Beethoven's 7th Symphony, Mvt. 2

Описание к видео MuseScore 3/4 Comparison - Beethoven's 7th Symphony, Mvt. 2

Another comparison between MuseScore 3 and 4 soundfonts. This one highlights quite a few of the issues that the new sounds have. I found a workaround for many of them, but I couldn't iron out everything.

Here's a list of issues I found:
Grace notes are ineffectual because there is no space before the primary note at all.
Putting a tenuto + staccato marking on a note affects the note's timing (and not by just a little bit).
Note shortening/lengthening also affects the volume of the note (hard to remedy)
Changing the tempo during a sustained note doesn't affect note length (decreasing tempo during a note means the note will continue playing at the original tempo and end early)
Violins and violas are, by default, extremely legato.
Certain instruments have a huge change in timbre after small dynamic changes.
Dynamics are very inconsistent instrument-to-instrument.
Tuplets tend to have poor rhythm when any ornamentation is placed on them.

In order to get good playback, I make a separate score and change the ornamentation/dynamics/etc.

Changes I had to make for playback:
Nearly every 16th note was staccato or staccatissimo.
Strings are unreadable at pp, so I raised most of them a level or two.
Timpani are loud and harsh above mp or mf (can't remember which).
Upper registers are extremely overbearing at higher dynamics, and must be lowered (especially flute, violin).

and many other things.

With all of these adjustments, though, I think it sounds really good.
That's a big caveat though.
