Hi, guys! I'm Alexandra Revontulet and this is my project Alexandrite. We create Symphonic Metal covers and release them in sets. Each set has four songs outlining the same theme. While we are on lockdown here in Moscow, I'm taking song requests from my patrons on Patreon.

If you've been following me for some time you've probably heard that HIM and the song Wicked Game, in particular, played a crucial role in me becoming a musician.

It was 1997 or 1998, and like all children, I was watching cartoons on TV. However, before the cartoons, they were airing some music clips, which annoyed me very much back then (after all, who needs all these weird people when they could show a couple more cartoons!). Once among these clips, I saw a very unusual one. Some long-haired dudes with guitars, a lady with black wings, and most importantly, music that I've never heard before. Despite the fact that it took up airtime, which could be spent on Sailor Moon, the melody stayed in my head and haunted me for a long time. I really wanted to know what that song was and how to play it. And now I finally know! 😁

Well, obviously, I found out that it was HIM a couple of years after that, and I also heard the original by Chris Isaak around the same time. Of course, that version is beautiful, but I think that the heavier sound with the Gothic flare that HIM gave this song fits the lyrics much better. Hope you'll enjoy my renditions as well!
