If you want to have butterflies in your garden you have to grow nettles. They lay their eggs on the nettles and they feed on stinging nettles. Plant flowers like Michaelmas daisies or asters. They enjoy buddleja as well. Buddleja blooms from spring to November so they will find something to eat during the season. Important is that you grow stinging nettles as well so that they can lay their eggs on those stinging nettles. Next year I'm going to try to grow some nettles under a buddleja shrub.
