On Monday, January 15th, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Women's Health Research Institute (WHRI) and the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute (BCCHR) had the pleasure of inviting Dr. Mark A. Clements to be the keynote speaker, followed by an exciting rapid-fire panel discussion presented by Dr. Angel Arnaout, Dr. Danya Fox, and Dr. Jonathan Simkin. The discussion focused on from digital health research and quality improvement to a learning health system - shifting the dialogue regarding our use of EHR data to improve health services.

After the seminar, learners should be able to:
1. Provide an example of a successful project using data from CERNER electronic health records and REDCAP to improve pediatric diabetes care.

2. Discuss how we might enable learning health projects at PHSA through improved data access/ quality and rethinking the current silos of research and quality improvement.

3. Identify opportunities to realize the benefits of our new electronic health records to better support learning health systems and improvements to care in PHSA.
