Описание к видео Lesson's Motmot - A Beautiful Bird in the Dense Costa Rica Rain Forest

I have been educated, this is the Lesson's Motmot (Momotus lessonii), not a Blue-capped motmot (as the video title says). It is an exquisite bird that mostly hunts insects on the ground from low perches. They sit almost perfectly still then pounce on their prey. Sometimes they swing their long tails like a clock pendulum. These birds nest in tunnels in banks of ground although I haven't been lucky enough to see that. We see these quite often...but never often enough as they are so interesting.
