Studies show that women-led panchayats or local councils in India implemented 62% more drinking water projects than male-led ones!
But here’s the concern, women’s representation in politics is on decline. So much so that India had to introduce the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023, which seeks to ensure 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.
According, to the Pew Research Center, as of October 2024, only 13 out of 193 UN member states have women heads of government.
