extremely dynamic fuzz
at minimum it will clean up completely with pick attack alone even with active pickups/preamps
will clean with volume knob in all settings
goes from light fuzz to very high gain (capable of tapping)
octave mode is completely unique (analog Phase Locked Loop generated multiple octaves through VCA envelope modulation)
+2,+1,-1,-2 octaves achievable
mix for octave down / up signals
extremely loud, even with -2 octaves and low B string (30.87Hz)
extensive tracking controls offer many distinct modes of operation
WIGGLE mode has violin like octave tones, not found anywhere else
mixing in fuzz creates tones as wild or tame as needed
very versatile
can get classic extremely dynamic Fuzz Face style tones and far beyond
high quality build, components and paintjob
analog circuitry means relatively low current consumption: 40mA max
takes anything from 9VDC to 18VDC center negative

Cons:
SMT build (as expected for a very complex pedal in a small footprint)
no internal battery, but it can work from external batteries

The Verdict:
If you are looking for a great silicon Fuzz Face, you are in the right place. If you wish it also worked predictably with low impedance signals, then you will be thrilled to know it does, cleaning up exceptionally well. And then you discover the octave side. And you understand this is far beyond any Fuzz Face you may have heard. The mix knob means they can be as versatile or as wild as you need, and the extensive tracking and octave controls achieve a wide range of very distinct applications. Nothing does the Squid Ink's unique tones. If you want a great FF you have it. If you want nothing short of wild it's here. And if you like the violin style WIGGLE mode and the complex tracking settings, you will not find them anywhere else except the Squid Ink. Mild to wild. Very unique and wild!
