This is what happens when a deer gets an infestation of nasal bottfly. The fly ejects its eggs as it flies past, which land on the deer's nose and from there they enter its nasal cavity and end up right down beneath the base of the tongue at he top of its throat. Here you get a cluster of 20 or so larvae which grow to a length of 1" to 1.5" when hopefully the deer host ejects them by coughing and sneezing. It can be fatal if it is a very heavy infestation and they block the airway thus suffocating the deer. In Finland and Lapland up to 15% of the Reindeer herds can die from this every year.
Distressing to watch and you can imagine what it must be like for the poor creature to have a head fully of these things wriggling around.
Nature isn't always cuddly. This is a wild planet we live on.
Still doesn't give us the right to destroy it though!
