Pottstown & Reading Chapter, NRHS, tour of the CSX locomotive shops at Cumberland, MD. Lots to see here: 1:13 Safety First #9562 NW2 switcher hostling locomotives, 8:33 GP40-2 zipping back and forth on the test track (how fun was that job!), 9:12 Western Maryland GP40, 13:51 #374 (Reading GP39-2), 15:45 switcher going for a spin on the turntable and 17:25 starting of a GP40 and #614 in the roundhouse. Very colorful time - Chessie System, Seabooard paint, road slugs, switchers. One of my favorite shop tours. Our chapter toured this shop again in 2000, everything was in CSX paint and Conrail-blue acquisitions... will upload that (HI-8) video in the future.
