November 15th, 2022, Electrond released "Uneasy Listening EP". The EP consists of eight short songs that show a different side of Electrond. The music is instrumental and not intensely rhythm driven, and when drums and percussion appear, it’s mainly the fragile, unstable, and unpredictable rhythms of the Bastl Kastle Drum and a circuit bent Roland drum machine.

This is not a departure from the usual hectic and multifaceted progtronica, rather more of a sidestep, inspired by the music of Cluster, Conrad Schnitzler, Vangelis, John Foxx, Harmonia, Brian Eno and Ashra/Manuel Göttsching.

"Stretch" started with samples of some of my many cymbals. Most of these that ended up on this track were made by the Welsh cymbal smith Steve Hubback in the late nineties. I took the samples and stretched them in Ableton Live, and they started to sound like drones rather than cymbals. The overtones merged and made me hear melodies and harmonies in my head. I tried to translate them into actual instruments, and the tune gradually took form. The lead synth is a Dreadbox Nymphes, a wonderful Greek-built polysynth. The percussion on this album is mostly a Bastl Kastle Drum and a circuit bent drum machine, and on “Stretch” it is mostly the Kastle drum, treated with some effects from Soundtoys.
