In this tutorial, you will learn how to use iPhone Focus in iOS 15.

iOS 15 Apple has introduced a new feature that acts similar to do not disturb but is more situational and has the ability to have multiple profiles. Apple calls it Focus. With Focus you can have different notification settings for different apps based on what mode you are in. For example work can block all the leisure app notifications while you’re at work. Let’s take a look at how to create a custom focus profile.

Go to Settings - Focus - Tap the plus icon. We’ll choose Custom. Give it a name and choose an icon. Choose people you want to allow to receive notifications from or tap None if you don’t want any notifications from people. Next choose apps you want to allow. You can choose specific apps and or choose only time sensitive notifications. Next you’ll have some additional options to tweak. Things like showing focus status, choosing what pages are shown on home screen or what you see on the lock screen and automating the Focus.

To turn a focus on and off, open control center and tap focus then choose the one you want. To turn it off, you can do the same or simply tap the icon on the lock screen and tap on the one that’s on.

Remember that focus works across all your devices so turning it on on one will enable it on all the others as well.

Remember, whenever it is activated, you will be able to see the Focus icon enabled on the lock screen, notification screen, Control Center, and Status Bar.
